Cleaning out my attic yesterday, I found an old cigar box with rolls of coins that I put away fifty years ago. To my surprise I found a full tube of 1969-s Lincolns. Looks like I'll be busy for a while. Here's a pic of the first one. Obverse.jpg Reverse.jpg Lou

Here's a pic of the cigar box full of coins I stashed away 50 years ago. Looks like I've got my work cut out. Would be nice if I found something worthwhile Lou IMG_20230217_081933.jpg

I think it depends on the interpretation by a person of the word "worthwhile". Me? The whole cigar box.

I taped this off sometime in 1982. Nine years to go, I guess.

Notice the ear and cheek damage. That is the direct result of being stored in a roll. I suspect you will see this on many more from that roll.

The really good ones will not show this flattening. The best ones will be doubling varieties. The very best is the prominent doubling variety that is super collectable and sought after…imo…Spark

I didn't see any bottles, but Tech cans do have some value.

In my sophomore year, Virginia Tech was still the informal name for Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, but it was taking over. Anything with "Tech" in the name, especially if it came from outside, carried some extra cachet. So we cajoled one of our neighbors, a student from the Pittsburg area, into bringing down some of this beer.

The bottles were popular. The beer inside, not so much. I remember one drunken student (who shall remain nameless) relieving himself into an empty bottle, because, as he put it, "who could tell the difference?"
