No, the zinc one is very common. The only rare one is the 1982 D small date copper.

There are like a bagillion threads on Cointalk of people thinking they have found one.. Only 2 have ever been discovered over the decades and attributed as 1982 D Small Date Copper.
I don't think another will ever be found and you will drive yourself absolutely nuts trying to do so!

I realize that. Just put that up there for the weight etc. It is a 1982-D small date, is it not? There are so many coins not accounted for meaning as my dad, held on to coins as well as many others. No telling what’s out there. Thanks for the info. Next time I’ll comment on. My link.

Sorry Anita that I did not explain the link I posted. That was in 2019 that the rare one was found or first one. Who knows what’s out there? As said on thread, the weight etc. Good luck and keep trying.

Copper Planchet only. Not the copper plated zinc planchet.

    Copper weighs 3.11 grams (rare)

Copper plated zinc weighs 2.5 grams (millions made)

I want to clearly and openly apologize. I don’t know the “tone” if that makes sense and I should not even respond to any posts of questions of any coin. I try too hard I guess and yes try to help. I am just the cents, nickel and dime gal. I’ll stick with that. Thanks and you have a great day as well.
