Anyone who sells "unsearched rolls" is suspect.

That second one is especially bad. I could find some metal at work and fab up something straighter than that. It is off center and the worst thing is that so many people are buying it. I suppose it is no worse than the fools paying $70 on the auction channel for gold flake fake $100 bills that can be had on E-Bay for about $3. I am pretty sure you can get a $100,000 bill for the same $3.

Lots of fake gold on ebay, my friend bought some Chinese panda sets and they where made of gold but they where fake most likely made by a jeweler that had made molds.

Any time I see a seller sells the whole "unsearched rolls" scam, especially with "coins on the ends", I know to stay far, FAR away.

I've bid on several of the rolls with a gold on the end, but I ONLY bid on the coin I see. I won one of them to my surprise once, and the other coins were just a nice little bonus. All to often I see those rolls go for WAY too much though

Be careful though. I know a dealer who puts aside "one sided" coins for such a seller. He said any type coins or cheaper gold that he runs across that has one nice side but the other so damaged the coin is a details coin at best, (melt at worst), a certain buyer wants to buy. So I believe some of those rolls might have a nasty shock once you get the coin out. :(

Both of the first two listed appear to be gone from eBay now.

This is why I bid on exactly what I see... in other words, I am expecting a crappy other side. It turned out to be decent, so I did ok. I was surprised the roll went as cheap as it did.. it is the only I have won so far.

I've been handling Morgan dollars for a few years now, I can tell you at the very least that these look strange. Maybe Chinese copies.

I actually asked someone to give me a counterfeit so I could use one to compare to others I purchase, and it looks similar to those 1903's. Some fakes are getting better to the point where they can sometimes weigh and measure exactly like a real one. But mine still doesn't pass the ping test of course ;)

All I was seeing was slabbed NGC graded gold. Gold is not my forte, so were you talking about all of them listed there or just one in particular?
