So far I've driven about 10 hours to get to the spring Baltimore Expo, but you already knew that didn't you Alan?
It depends on the size of the show. The larger the show the further I'll travel, but right now about 250 miles is my limit. Eventually I'd like to get to some of the larger shows such as FUN, Baltimore, or Long Beach, but for those distances I'd want to fly rather than drive, and the airport is a 100 mile drive one way. I also have the problem that I don't drive and have to depend on someone else to do the driving.
I've yet to go to one. Most likely candidates Baltimore Chicago or Florida. For a major show. There's nothing on that level up here. I wanted to make it to Baltimore this fall but didn't have any money for coins. And I was an hour away. I travel as far as Nashville to do antique shows so driving long distance not a problem for me. But no I wont fly.
Maybe, but Orlando doesn't have good old Chesapeake Bay crab cakes, blue crabs and soft shell crab sandwiches.
No, you just have Joe's Stone Crab in Miami... The rest of us have to suffer with the offshoot branded version in Chicago, DC and Las Vegas.
Last time I flew I had a bottle of jack in a brown paper bag on the plane with me that and I could barely stand up. They won't let you do that no more so no thanks. I just as soon get in my truck and drive in comfort. I can fit quite a few in there so...
I said 1/2 hour, only because we have more than enough shows locally to satisfy my need for coin shows. If that weren't the case, I'd be willing to drive to shows within 2 hours. I just wouldn't attend as many as I do now.
Two hours is my normal tolerance for a coin show. I wouldn't mind driving farther, say the five hours to Long Beach, but it has more to do with work than driving. I have flown 3500 miles and attended a show, but we were technically there for something else.
3 hours.... but only because I will go to the Long Beach one (and have been before).... sometimes with traffic it does take that long
