This was in the box of my parent's "special/rare coins". But it looks like an ordinary quarter to me. Anything special about it?

Maybe a special date such as someone birth year or anniversary?

Not everyone collects $10,000 coins, or collects for value. I'm gonna add it into my collection. Never seen a copper quarter before!

It never ceases to amaze me that our current crop of youth do not even know what the currency is made up of what metals. This lack of observation isn't just with the current youth, it is historical. When a few people look closely at the coins and find double mint marks etc. they are the ones who flourish in the coin market. It may be a government deliberate act that some coins exhibit "errors" for later discovery by the enthusiastic coin collectors. Research and knowledge go a long way.

Or how to feed a typewriter. It's sad, but we're just getting old. If I had my way they'd stay off my lawn!

OP, I just don't see anything special about it, higher grades of the date should be pretty easy to find in circulation and it will please you much more as a discovery. It still amazes me that a half century old coin can still be found in nice AU condition in pocket change. Keep up the hunt.

Was your dad in the Military at the time, we were in a conflict with North Vietnam at the time, maybe special from that era.

I messed up that quote from Kirkuleez, he did not say anything about the music, that was me. I just wanted to keep the words "If I had my way they'd stay off my lawn!, SORRY
Old people did not like my music either, Mo Town, Rock,Roll, back in the sixties
