I just don't like bronze or copper coins. It's something to do with an elemental, primitive thought process of gravitating towards silver and gold. I don't know, but I don't even hardly collect US copper cents or anything close to them. I make an exception for Jeffersons and about 5 type coins of non silver or gold composition. I realize there are reasonably priced silvers out there I could pick-up in the meantime, but for now I'm still working my way through US and dabbling lightly in foreign silver coins. Ancients will have their day too, someday!
If you have the chance, go through some of the posts by Ancient Joe. He has coins of all denominations and compositions. His bronze coins are second to none.
Not me early large size copper and colonials were my first love. Still are behind the early and trade dollars

We should have a guessing game. Post your gifts and see if you can guess the giver. Three strikes and you're out.
My first guess is jw(Bing) sent Mat, those awesome coins. hopefully they all will be here by this weekend.
Thank you Santa, I need this for a set for my oldest son. Thanks for the card to. I now wish I had taken more time to wrap and write a card to my receipient Anyway thanks again only the second time in my life I've been given a silver eagle for free.
The package I sent out most likely would arrive by this weekend. I would expect to be at my recipients house by Tuesday or Wednesday.
i'll hold off in posting mine as well. i also know who my santa was, i recognize the return addy and this well made flip inserts. throwback, are you in the regular exchange as well as the ancient exchange? if you in the regular CT exchange, you may want to post that there as well..i suspect your santa is on that thread. that's a nice gift however! nice presents mat, your santa did well. the second mysian coin is super!
Thanks for the heads up I totally thought this was the regular coin exchange secret Santa. I do appreciate it
While I missed the SS signup, I do think the idea of trying to guess who sent which coin has merit but only this year because if you knew in advance that you needed to send a coin that someone else would be blamed for it might affect your choice. On the other hand maybe whoever sent an aureus would prefer to remain anonymous??? I wonder if we each sent a newp photo to one member who would post them all how accurately we could tell which one was Steve's and which was TIF's for example. Several of us have similar tastes while others of us buy just about anything that come our way so it might not be fair unless we promised not to post something out of character.
