Here's a guess the grade for ya. This is a triple error washington dollar. It has three errors, no edge lettering, a large clash on the obverse and reverse, and this coin was also struck through grease. I am very impatient, so I am sending this in to NGC tommorrow for and express grading. I know it looks like there are lots of scratches on ther coin, but it really doesn't look that bad in hand, the struck through grease areas just don't look that nice.

So, what do you think it will grade?

    -Paul

P.S. It would probably help to post ths pictures=)

I'll say 63, but I wouldn't be surprised if they body bag it for damage.

I hope they don't...I got it straight from a roll that way...Thanks for your opinion!

I don't doubt it, but rather often the TPGs consider such coins as damaged.

63, MAYBE a 64. But that would be on a good day. Wouldn't surprise me if it came back bodybagged like GD said. It would be a sure thing if you sent it to PCGS. Can't wait to hear what it will grade. Nice coin, btw.

Another possibility is if they don't body bag it, it might come back a 62. Now looking at the coin more, I don't think it is close to a 64. My guess now is 62/63. Good luck.

Ok, I just found another one of these errors that seems like it might be a little nicer, and it's clashes are definently much stronger.

This could even be a quadruple error! Is the second picture a strike through thread?

On this coin, you can clearly see the clashing on the obverse of liberty's tierra (3rd picture) and on the reverse you can clearly see Washington's eyes, one in the "1" of $1 and the other just to the right of it, in Liberty's armpit. There also seems to be some sort of clashing near her neck.

I agree about it being a struck thru.

    Hi Paul,
If it were me I would not send them in to be graded, there are just two many bag marks. From all the ones I have seen and I have been through about 20 rolls I think that any of the Washington dollars that came from the mint will have a hard time getting a grade higher then a ms-65 however there could be some out there. I think N G C will body bag your coins however I would hold on to the errors until we all see just how many there are out there then there might be some real value to them later we will just have to wait and see.

    Bruce.
