A 1/10 oz Gold Eagle is 16.5mm to help you judge size.

Is it "worth it". Who's to say? That's something only you can answer for yourself.

Just for reference a dime is 17.9mm

I'll post photos tonight of a $5 and a $10 next to a Quarter. I love both of my coins but that is my personnel preference.

I think they are cool-tiny, lol. I only own a 1oz age, and it is a little larger than a half dollar, but thicker

They are pretty and shiny! And you wont get much bigger a gold piece for about $70, so if that is your budget go for it!
If you want to see a really microscopic gold coin, check out the gold fanams from India... they are about 3 mm or so across... they look like a small pebble, but are very amusing to own!

I think it would be worth buying a 2006 W uncirculated $5 or the 1997 proof $5 coin. Both are the lowest mintage in that series and will appreciate the most.
