Australia, 1949 threepence. VF I know it is WORTHLESS....but I need to know the exact value..anyone here got krause ???
Actually, quite a few people have at least part of the set. According to my 2007 34th Ed., your coin is worth bullion value through VF, $1.75 XF, and $5.50 Unc. At $14/oz. silver, the .0226 oz. ASW coin has a bullion value of about 31-1/5¢. Mintage was 26.4-million at Melbourne, KM#44, 1.41g .500 silver.
Thanks lol....I knew it was WORTH LESS.... Anyone got any idea what a 1774 20 reis from Portugal would be worth in XF ??
If the 2002 3rd Ed. 18th Century volume of Krause is to be believed, you can name your own price! KM#330, an undated coin struck from 1799-1816, is listed as the only 20 Reis coin minted in the 18th Century! BTW 55 minutes after posting a question is waaaaaaaaaaay too soon to be posting "Anyone ??!". Our members are all over the world, most of them are primarily or exclusively US coin enthusiasts, not all the world coin nuts like me have all volumes of Krause, and I am sure that none of us monitor our computers for new CoinTalk posts on a 24/7 basis. Please show a modicum of patience.
Check whether it is under Brazil or Portugeuse Colonial..... It is certainly a 20 reis coin from 1774...
Krause does list a Brazilian 20 Reis dated 1774, but has no picture. KM#175.2 is copper, with a combined 1773-74 mintage of 1,594,000. The 2002 Krause values are $2.50 VG, $5 F, $10 VF, and $25 Xf. The only other 1774 20 Reis listed is from Portuguese India. KM#155 is a copper coin of an unspecified mintage, valued at $9 G, $18 VG, $35 F and $75 VF. It is pretty crude, and I’d be very surprised if you thought it was Portuguese, so the Brazilian copper is probably what you have.
