Byzantine Question ?

    Hello. Two things struck my curiosity in this Byzantine coin. First its weight being 8.25 g. despite the fact that it's a half Follis, I mean there's the letter K on reverse. Secondly, there doesn't seem to be any Bronze disease on this coin despite the fact that it looks very old , with a lot of wear.     It can only be Anastasius, Justin, or Justinian by type. Might be hard to narrow down further lacking legends.

    BD is more of a soil condition or contamination issue more than age sir. Most bronzes this old or older never have BD.

    Thank you sir. Is it a Half Follis ? It weighs 8.25 g. That looks heavier than usual ?

    It does not sound out of line for earlier half follis'.
