Rescued this unfortunate Wheat Penny

  1. Looks like a car ran over it, doesn't it? I'm amazed that it's 2014 and we can still find these in change.

Still has a lot of good detail left, especially in the wheat stalks.

I hope you didn't look at it as if it was a lost kitten like I do. "It's ok now little guy, you're going home to be safe with me."

I thought I was the only person who did that. I saved a Lincoln cent just yesterday.

And if nothing else it has more then face value in copper in it. I pull all my copper cents out of my change tho God knows why

That's finally something I gave up...I was an addict on the coppers (except for the wheats)...finally dumped'em all back into my big glass piggy! now it looks like a lesson in Geology...bottom layer of silver and brown, middle layer of brown only...and a top layer forming of silver and brown again.

I figured, if nothing else, it was a compulsion I didn't have to give into anymore, one less thing to worry about..., if I want them back then there they are...in the middle layer of the big piggy.
