I was flipping through the channels last night before going to bed and stopped on some coin show. I can't remember the name of the show, but the guy's name was Jimmy something. It's only on TV 2 nights of the week....Tuesday and Saturday(I think). Anyways, he had 3, 2006 Silver Eagles from the Anniversary Set, and the were all graded PF-69 by PCGS. Now this guy "Jimmy" is ALWAYS way high onhis prices for coins but, he had this 3 coin set for $499.00. I remember seeing just the Reverse Proof coin going for at least $600.00 in an auction on E-Bay. Could this guy "Jimmy" have made a mistake? I wish I would have had the extra $500.00 bucks to buy this set. I really do believe he made a mistake. Could I be wrong? It HAS happened before.....once or twice. LOL Please let me know what you think. Also, if you could help me with the name of the show and "Jimmy's" last name. Ya know.....3 brain tumors and all! Just wondering if anyone else has seen this show?
Smullen, That's it!!! Coin Vault.....thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I have a headache now! LOL swick
That sounds high. I think they will come down like most hot items. Look at the Franklin Com. it has nosed dived Here is a link to a site that has them lower then your price http://www.moderncoinmart.com/coin-collecting/20th-anniversary-gold-silver-eagle-coins/
I saw that same show and it's the "Treasure Hunter", starring Jimmy Gerstel. All I can say is "WHAT A JOKE" ! That show consistently rips people off with overpriced coins and common date stuff that is trying to fool people into thinking it is rare.
I agree, the guy's name is Jimmy Gerstel. I have not been watching the prices of the 20th anniversary ASE sets on ebay, but usually his prices are well above what you can buy coins for on the internet. If he offered a great buy, it would be a rarity indeed.
