Token help - European ?

This token is similar to a private issue Morocco token in Krause but not identical and brass rather than aluminum. Anybody know anything about it?

I've been wanting to help, but I haven't had much time to investigate your token.
It seems that your token may have been made by the same company/mint that produced the Moroccan token pictured above.
The major difference is that the French Moroccan token is aluminum and the token in your possession is brass. Meaning that they were probably not produced at the same time for the same purposes. Your token may be a telephone or transit token from a later period.

 

Retract that telephone token idea.
It might be one of two things: A French military token or a jetton.

 

I don't really know, but I've always thought that brass was used before aluminum. I could be way wron

 

I don't recognize it off the top of my head, but I'd bet it will be found in Monnaies de Nécessité Françaises.

Great info, thanks. Even with it denominated in francs I wouldn't have found the French website on emergency issues. Very cool.
