I ran across this... Was not going to pursue it but I realized the obvious doubling on In God We Trust. I read there have been DD's reported for this year/mint but it also seems like the reverse shows profound doubling on the letters so I wonder if it's not hub doubling but just another strike that did it. The coin is interesting, no less...

    Any ideas?

I'm assuming it's just double struck.

    Thanks in advance :3

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

What you are seeing is a trick of the lighting.

Those pictures are not clear enough to be able to identify doubling.

@physics-fan Yeah, that could very well be the case. There's good mirroring anyway so it wukdnt be too surprising. The price is right though, so I might check it out. It didn't say DDO or anything. No way to tell for sure without it in hand and maybe a loupe (or my microscope).

@Pat Thanks ^^ I think I might. If it turns out to just be a reflection the price ain't too bad anyway and it's a Morgan I don't have.

I guess I'll know for sure when I get it.

I think the reflections are messin' with ya. Don't be surprised that it's not a Morgan when it arrives. :)

    Lol, Morgan...

That's what I get for typing on the train.

You're probably right but for 60 bucks I figure it's worth checking out.

Even if it's doubling it's most likely a double strike... I don't know.

I'll post some microscope pics if it looks interesting.

    Mmh...for $60 I'd let it remain a mystery.

    Oops ;3

Really it's just $60 and not far from its actual value if the coin didn't have that one gash... And that's wholesale price.

It was too much for me to resist. I HAD to know what's up (and get my mind off this package that seems to have disappeared."

I also got barber quarter Whitman's so I can move them the heck outta my black binder and a 1915 Barber half -- one of the harder ones. That set is almost done, gonna do the rest of the toughies and then the rest (either through bulk and sell the extra or buy them one-off).

I paid 90 for the 1915 (which isn't a bad price; G+ - VG, problem-free) and a lot more for the coin in that package that dissapeared but I'm gonna track that sucka down B)

That or I file a report with eBay. This WILL get resolved one way or the other. Domestic package to a secure office building. How do you screen that up?

I'm not a huge fan of USPS.
