Thought this was interesting - http://cgi.ebay.com/Indian-Head-Cent-1872-AU50-LINCOLN-WHEAT-DOUBLE-DIE-F15_W0QQitemZ120093603825QQcategoryZ41085QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem. Almost looks like someone did an auction just to mention a scammer on the canadian ebay.
Yea, seems like theres an over emphasis on scammers from Canada. Being a new seller on Ebay, who knows, maybe he's one of them. Making them sound bad to make himself look good. I've never in my life ever heard of an 1872 double die IHC. If its really that authentic why doesnt he have some closer shots of the areas affected on the coin. I think I'll send him a message asking for just that. I'll let you know how I make out.
The Indian Cents often have what is called Longacre Doubling, after the designer of the coin. Check this article out for a thorough explanation: http://www.shieldnickels.net/articles/Stanton_DieDoubling.pdf
I think the idea was to provide a nonsensical listing with a lot of key words, to maximize the possible hit rate. I wouldn't be surprised if this listing were bounced long before any alleged (must use that word) scams are.
