Who knew that the folks from Pawn Stars had gotten NGC to make them custom labels for these??? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-50th-A...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
They've had custom NGC labels for quite a while now. When I visited the shop in August I saw that they had them on Widow's Mite slabbed coins, among others. Rob
only 54,500 set left - u.s. mint - four coins silver set. p.s. only 27,366 set left - two coins clad set.
I just bought the silver set in OGP on ebay today for $97. Put $36 in ebay bucks towards it. Most of them were selling for $115 to $125. What was the initial mint price on these?
Still available from the Mint http://catalog.usmint.gov/50th-anniversary-kennedy-2014-half-dollar-silver-coin-collection-K13.html
You mean this isn't a super, special, limited edition set? lol Actually it's nice. Looks like everybody who wants one (collectors) can get one without paying double for it. I won't complain.
I really like the set, I was surprised to see that it hasn't sold out yet. Honestly I'm not sure why it hasn't. I was seriously considering ordering another one.
If I'd of had a good experience with my initial order from the mint I might be tempted to do likewise, but out of the four sets that I ordered, three went straight back to them as each set had issues with one or more coins. Only one set was a keeper. Kind of sad because I expected so much more in regard to quality. It was the first time I had ever sent anything back to the mint as I'm usually quite satisfied with what I receive from them.........
Same here. I was luckier than you; I only needed to order two sets to get one keeper. But the other one had obvious problems with three of the coins, IIRC.
Yikes. Well, my guy says they're perfect condition and if not completely satisfied, I have 14 days to return them. I guess we'll see. Thanks for the head's up. Wonder why these have problems?
It probably has more to do with the volume of offerings the mint is putting out more than the set being unpopular. If this set was all the mint was offering as a commemorative this year, they would've been gone. As things are, there's too many different directions to look and options to spend money on there.
It's a nice set for the Kennedy collector. My sets were pristine. I wasn't so lucky with the March of Dimes.
My set came in today. I'm satisfied. The proof and the circulated were not perfect. The circulated is extremely nice but there's a small impression right below last A in America on the reverse. Otherwise perfect. Reverse proof and enhanced uncirculated look to be perfect. I don't see any imperfections. The proof had a couple tiny white spots on the obverse field. Not worth sending back. A lot of packaging. I will store out of the packaging. Beautiful set.
