About the size of a US Half Dollar, with a dual profile obverse (showing a Native American & a Mountie, holding a pair of Maple leaves and 2 stalks of wheat) with the legend "Manitoba - Centennial Year". The reverse shows a high relief buffalo with smoke towers to one side and forest to the other, standing on the legend "100th Year". Any idea what this is worth or who the issuer is?
It looks like the Manitoba Historical Society issued centennial medals in 1970, but I'm not sure if this is one of them? http://www.mhs.mb.ca/docs/people/centennialmedals.shtml
If that's a comprehensive list, there were only 20 Centennial Medal of Honor recipients & 438 other recipients. So, possibly fewer than 500 of these were made? I contacted the admin for the site that hosts that list, and he was unable to confirm what the medal they issued looked like.
