Well, I got hammered with a few of my work-buddies after work and then my sweet wife dropped-by and rescued me and took me to WalMart (it is absolutely amazing waking-up the next day and finding-out what I thought was cool at WalMart the night before!!) => I bought myself a Batman bobble-head for my office, three types of chips that I've never tried before and an ultra-boppie CD (a girl band!!) ... yup, it was another fantastic Yankee Thanksgiving for this guy!! (cha-chinngg)
Had breakfast at my mom's, had dinner at her mom's.... took a nap and then cataloged some coins for the next auction, see sig line below...
Has anyone added to their activities? I made it through Georgia on my cataloging(skipping Canada and China because I'm still finding all my Canadian coins and I can't read Chinese Characters). At this rate, I'll have my trade list completed within a few months!
Did an antique show today it pretty much sucked dead moose. Crowd was like the walking dead. Back to working in my shop doing woodwork in the morning
I love antiques in general, and mostly because there's a chance to find a coin or two at an antique shop. What do you do with woodwork?
I seldom buy much coins there someone asked me what a holed coronet large cent was worth I said $5 if your lucky. I deal in pre 1830 American furniture and accessories I also do restoration woodwork on furniture and early houses again pre 1830 hand built and pre industrial revolution
I, too, ate way too much of everthing and am still releasing pressure from the relief vents @green18, my grandfather always said, wherever year may be, let your wind blow free. He very quickly followed this up with, "everybody hurry up and sniff to get rid of it." Ahhhh, the wisdom passed down to us by our grandfathers.
Never anything real good a couple low grade ihc and wheat cents and a foreign coin or 2. Would love to find a nice early dime or something like that I got a friend that takes down houses he's found quite a few coins the best being an oak tree shilling
That's really cool. I have a family member who owned a house in the Northeast and they found a colonial coin (unsure what it was) when they renovated it. I've always wanted to dig up the floorboards on an old home, or better yet, an old bar!
For the first time in my 57 years, there was not a big family party at mom's house. Looks like it's my turn to take over from now on. I can't match the love she put into this each year. I did get to see her for a while and that's all I needed to have a great Thanksgiving day.
