I get there's PMD. If you zoom in and take a closer gander at the pics. I'm pretty sure that there's a lot more going on, other than being ran over in a parking garage.
Sorry, I'm new, not only coin collecting but using any kind of technology. Maybe I'm seeing things but along the Rim it definitely looked like there was lettering that as far as I know shouldn't be there. I do all this from my phone so maybe the pic. resolution is different in another pic. it looked like a shadow of another coin also around the lettering. I get it's chewed up and people can see weird stuff, especially a not very experienced person such as myself. But a few of the old timers at the VFW who have some experience said there's something there that it kind of looked like a statue of liberty dollar coin transfer or something along those lines. Don't quote me. They pointed out the shadow of what looks like her head and crown and the letters that were hit and miss on the rim on the montecello side just above
Maybe had a few too many at the VFW? Look at it again today and see if it still looks the same. Seriously though, I don't see anything like you describe.
All I can say is that it is a good thing we still don't use rolls of film any more because this hobby would cost you more than it is worth. Leave the nickel in your tip at the VFW. Chris
even if there was something there, it's still not worth more than a nickel with all that damage....spend it..
