Reagan was a better president then Abe at least he didn't split the country in half and cause the bloodiest war in U.S. history but now I could REALLY go for Jefferson Davis on the cent! Personally I'm beyond sick of dead presidents on coins bring back lady liberty any day!
Interesting, she is not doing this as a tribute to "Dutch" but as a political statement regarding the debasement of the cent during RR's term of office. Obviously, she must labor under the delusion that the president can just order the changes in metal composition, and that there are no checks or balances. Just for historical accuracy, both houses of Congress were dominated by the other party at the time.
Personally I think they should just eliminate the cent. Personally I think coins should still have metal value equal to face value and our bills should still be redeemable for silver or gold at face value against current spot price

How about we just get rid of the cent altogether, and then we won't have to argue about which dead guy is on it.
OK, so let's make it clear: I would get rid of the Cent and Nickel today, if I could. But, I don't see that happening in the U.S. anytime soon, so if we must have these coins minted, I would love to see Reagan on the Cent!
