Used one in a vending machine, just to see if it got accepted. It did. I paid a street vendor with dollar coins and he took them without saying a word.
I love them. I'd have loved the Sacs too if I'd cared enough to give them a shot. I typically carry 8-10 in my pocket and use them any time I have to pay a few bucks. I like the fact that I can reach into my pocket and grab a few. I have no problem separating them from quarters by simply running my finger along the edge before I pull them out. I love not having to rifle through my wallet to seperate a couple of bills. My wallet stays in my pocket and it only takes a second to pull a couple of coins. Happy Joy! I've had just about every reaction from the "What are these?" to the "I'm cashing this out" to the "Oh, God, you're one of those. Go away!" No one has refused to accept them though.
For the past week I've busted two rolls just to search and spend. Everybody seems really interested and surprised by the edge lettering. Just spent my last 5 buying my retirement package! $5 worth of MEGAMILLIONS lottery tickets!!!:goof: George is going to pull it off for me Tonight!:thumb:
good luck... I hope george comes through for ya!!!!! Tell'em you want all your winings in Georges and maybe a few Morgans... Tell'em to get the good stuff outta the back of the vault... I just spent 5 more today on lunch... The cool thing was I got a "Beaver Nickel" in change back.... I know many other people have, but beleive it or not, I've never got a Canadian Nickel in change...
I owed a co-worker $5, so I gave her 3 Presidentials and 2 bills. She actually refused to take the coins and requested a $5 bill instead, even if she would have to wait until I broke a $20 to get the $5.
I gave two to our accounting group today to pay for some personnel shipping and they were excited to see them for the first time.
first time I just spent my first Washington dollars today. One at a gas station and four at Mcdonalds and got no reaction at all. I was a little shocked, but mabey the lack of reaction is a good thing. Now if people will start giving them out in change. I'll not be holding my breath though.
went to a local fat burger restaurant the other day and showed one to the manager. Said he has never seen one before nor even knew they made them. There was an older couple behind me . The guy said he had heard of them but has never seen one. Showed it to another couple. They thought it was cute. I Took my dollar and my fat burgers and left.
