Evening all, could I possibly ask a few questions about this coin I have? Starting at 12 o'clock :- Does the closed AM mean any thing? What's that between 5-A? Is it a cross or scratched 4 Can somebody identify what's going on with the 9 and 5?( looks like an overdate?) At about 10oclock :- Where is the A gone? Die fill? Grease ? L and I in liberty smudged? Any info would be appreciated. Hope the photographs helps. Thanks for taking the time to look.

I am inclined to agree with dfraser. Here in the section of Wexlers it shows an 1895 overdate, scroll down a few to see it: http://www.doubleddie.com/58327.html
Thankyou both, Again the knowledge here is awesome. It was a good find only bought 6 coins . Was lucky that the detail has survived the test of time.
Yep Wexlers has some good information! I use that and two others a lot. Then when I get stuck or have a question I ask the experts here!!! It so addicting, I got coins everywhere. In fact I need to get more organized.
