That cent was polished alright: by whoever whizzed it to death. If you're talking about the die polish marks, then yes, it does have quite a few of them.
He asked the weight possibly for the possibility that it could be copper and not plated. Then that would be a neat one
I know you're having fun with your digital scope, but most of these photos are worthless for determining whether the coin has been polished or not. Chris
I'm aware of that, and it would be evident on the coin if the photos were better. As they stand, the photos are great for detecting leprosy on a gnat, but that's about it. Chris
ok ,from what I see there is quite a lot of plating issues on this coin I believe it is not copper,,the first thing that attracted to to this coin was the missing Lincoln memorial..thanks
great its a almost dead coin with leprosy,,,,,,,,,,i will send this one to pcgs hope that it makes it there on time before it dies.....
I find it odd that the coin can appear so damaged yet not show evidence of damage such as breaks in the 1 mil plaiting. I would expect to see some zinc rot going on and in response to the "what's it weigh" question, about the same as others isn't what I was looking for since the weight difference between a 90% Copper coin and its Zinc cored counterpart is on .6 of a gram. A specific weight would be appreciated. As for the "whizzed" comment, wouldn't "whizzing" a copper plated coin remove the plating?
I'd love to have his scope for my 2009P Formative rolls looking for die markers I cannot see with my bad eyes. C'mon fellas, try not to be so snarky.
