received these coins in the mail yesterday from a forum member and coin buddy, thanks coin buddy! claudius ii 268-270 AD antoninanus o: bust right r:fides left ric 34-36 20mm 3.26g and this one...had to black background this one, my gnarled table looked a bit bad even by my standards. gallienus 253-268AD antoninianus o: bust right r:doe right, epsilon in ex. rome mint ric 177 19 mm 3.22 g this is a nice coin of gallienus, the best one i have of the him by far.
Hey, wait a minute?! ... chrsmat, did you re-finish that table of yours? (it looks quite nice in that first photo) Oh, and congrats on having coin buddies (must be because you're so neato? => please keep that up, my friend) Cheers
The Gallienus is exceptionally good for the type. It's quite rare to get a well-struck reverse - that's a coin I would pay decent money for.
I love sharing this decrepit Dianae Cons of mine, and why not in this case since it makes the OP Gallienus look even better .
thanks everyone. yeah steve, i have officially retired my old table for doing coin pictures. i thought we should have a moment of silence for good "'ol gnarly" Ol' Gnarly 2012-2014 He will be missed.
Great coins!!! Guys, during this coming Spring, I'll be interested in trading and/or selling some of my Ancients....I still have one Emperor portrait album with some of their their wives left....and I've been aggessively purchasing more of all types of late ( I was forced to sell most of my ancient, modern and currency collection over a year ago). Perhaps we can work something out???
