This coin walked into the shop today totally unexpected from a local collector who is working on a registry set of seated halves... he just upgraded his to a 67 Cameo. I have included heritages pics as they are about as good as I could do.
Registry set of seated halves? Dang........talk about a large wallet. Its a pretty coin. You should tell everyone the tiny mintage of this coin, both proof and MS.
The last picture is the best representation in hand. It's a very hard coin to photograph. I didn't even attempt it with all the high quality pics available.
That's one of the nicest SLHs I've seen and totally original . This one should be in Amanda's Coin Porn . Great pick up Matt .
Can't imagine what this coin looks like in person. I saw my first proof seated half in person a few months ago and was blown away. I bet those photos do this coin no justice.
Great coin!! I'm surprised they gave it a 67 with the lines in the right obverse field tho. Still a beauty regardless
They are actually just breaks in the toning and not hairlines... Almost like something lightly brushed across it after it was toned. I saw the picture and then hit the coin with my loupe to make sure.
One of the more common proof seated half dollars, but a real stunner. What do you think kept this one from getting the cameo designation?
Was hard to tell from the pics. Looked like lines more like a 63-4 would have. Beautiful coin but out of my budget. Though right now anything over face value is
