PMD or Die gouge?

the things that makes me think it's a die gouge rather than PMD are
    1. a die gouge or deposited raised metal in front of Lincolns face.
    2. another faint raised line South of the big one.
    3. The area goes underneath the letters of IN and although they are disfigured they are "above" the gouge/scratch but this is disputable as well
    4. the metal West of IN and halfway down is raised, it is higher than the field.
The thing that makes me think it is PMD is the furrow and hole on the SW half of the scratch/gouge.

However with the PMD theory if whatever smacked and slid across it hit SE first then slid NW I don't believe the metal would raised higher than the field on the top half of the area. Notice also how the area ends right before the rim but is raised. It is highly unlikely that whatever hit it would stop there without hitting the rim or leaving a furrow.
The "hit" couldn't have started NW and slid SE because there is no gouge only raised metal with a soft rounded edge
Now explain to me why I wasted so much effort thinking about this instead of t 81-1.jpg 83-3.jpg 83-6.jpg 83-8.jpg Image2459.jpg ossing it?

Looks more like plating bubbles to me than anything.

It certainly doesn't look like PMD. I'm not sure what its cause is though.
