Possibly struck through grease?

I've been told by a dealer that this occurred outside the minting process but I found it in a sealed roll of 2006D Jefferson Nickels. Any thoughts? The reverse has some of this but the obverse was extreme. Struck through grease? Sorry about that loose "puppy" hair. Thanks!

Here is the reverse. Did you mean it got stuck in a commercial clothes dryer?

 

Since there doesn't seem to be any of the upset rim left, I think it is PMD.

yep---keep searching---2006 minus 14 is about 8 years of wear--lets see got one some where
