I recently got my hands on some kennedy halves from a bank, more than half of the $250 I picked up were pre 1970. I normally just collect for the silver, but I wondered if any of the non silver coins may be error coins since more than likely none have been searched at all. I looked through them with my limited knowledge and separated some that may or may not be error coins. I am hoping you guys could help determine if they are. The most interesting one I think is a 1977 that looks weird to me, I am not sure if its just the wear on the coin, but it looks like it may be an error coin, maybe a broadstrike since it has no reeding, but again, the coin looks very worn. There are also some 1971 D halves that look to have an off center rim where the rim is very thin and faint on one side and thicker on the opposite side. Let me know what you think.
the 1994 coin have very little to no rim and the 1972 pictured before that has the most off center rim of all the 71's I noticed and separated. Also worth mentioning there were 2 proof coins in the bunch. a 1980-s and a 2002-s
The 77-D is simply coin wrapping damage caused by the crimper. The 71-D's look totally normal with the exception of a minor misaligned die. Smooth edges on Kennedy Half's is a normal progression of wear in that the reeding is 100% Pure copper which is much softer than the CnCladding. They will wear smooth. I did not see a 1972 in your group of photo's.
