I see a lot of ugly coins which just suffered from bad times.
These were ugly right from the mint (but i think they are kind of cute):

Ummm...you're getting slightly close, at least time-wise. Yes that is a monogram you're seeing.

Not Ricimer/Libius Severus, not Leo, not Zeno. Hint: he was young, around 10-20 years old.

7c, i'm pretty sure your first is a caracalla of antioch....i think you second is a macrinus also of antioch.

please get a second opinion on those from one of the experts here.

Thank you very much C71. You are encouraging me to post other coins of this type in this thread. By the way, did these series of coins which were marked SC have any mint mark ? What are these tiny marks under the 2 letters SC ?

Ugly due to the black that refuses to come off and the die clash on the reverse.

Considering how cheap I got it and expensive she tends to be, I am OK with it.

Those are both from Antioch, Charles, but I don't know the emperors. Some of them had very similar portraits, like Geta and Caracalla.

I know it's pretty sad but something draws me to it. I collect coins from leprosy colonies so that might have something to do with it.
