With some of the problems encountered with this seller and supposedly deceptive photography, do you think the winning bidder on these will be disappoined? http://cgi.ebay.com/1939-GEM-PROOF-SET-4-CAMEOS-STUNNING-SET_W0QQitemZ220085070343QQihZ012QQcategoryZ41110QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
What are the problems with this seller? I know someone who bought some original early 50's sets from him and the transaction went smoothly and the sets were as descirbed. Though admittedly for a $1800 proof set I would want to see some better photos.
In the past, pics of his auctions have been taken that made coins look cameo and deep cameo that were not. As you pointed out in your concern, its a problem with accurate pictures.
Reading his feedback, it seems his buyers are satisfied, even the more experienced ones. Those are some pretty wild cameos for a 1939 set though. Looks like he may have done some touch-up & adjusted the contrast on the photo a bit.
It looks like to me that the Walker isn't cameo if you look at the sun. Could be wrong though. The only one that looks like a sure bet cameo is the Wheat. Could be wrong though. They are pretty nice coins. Just probably wouldn't go that high without seeing them in hand IMO. Phoenix
