I have a few. Here are two: Middlesex. Spence's "Much Gratitude Brings Servitude (Spaniel)/"We were born free and will never die slaves." (D&H 750) 12.3 grams VF Middlesex. Newton. D&H 1053 VF. This is a repost. I rescanned the coins and did not change the color or contrast. Also, this is indeed Middllesex D&H 1053, whereas the previous was D&H 1033 with a planchett clip. Hmmmm.... still quite a bit of difference between the two displays...
I have a few dozen or so of these although Scottish in the main. Here's a 1d from the town I spent my childhood and school years in. There were also a few 1/2d's issued for Dundee as well as a silver shilling. I haven't got round to scanning them all onto my computers hard drive yet. If you need to see any of the official Scottish ones though, let me know. The privately issued ones ...well i've been stuck on finding some for more than ten years now.
There are a lot of political tokens from Middlesex & London.Although I don't have any of Thomas Spence's pieces,I do have one dated 1794 which commemorates the aquittal of Thomas Hardy. The 18th Century British Isles Traders' Token field is an extremely interesting series in their own right.
Nooooooo! Don't tempt me. I've been looking at some of these Conders and i'm getting too interested for my own comfort, i can't afford to collect anything else
Sylvester,if you are interested in collecting Traders' Tokens from British Commonwealth countries, the ones from Australia,New Zealand,& Canada are very interesting.I do have one from Sierra Leone & one from East London (South Africa, that is,not England!).
