Hey All, Coin roll hunting. I think I found a MM variety with a split serif, also the reverse is grease struck; completely missing the E in E-Pluribus. I checked Copper Coins and it has three listed, but no pics on 1MM-001. To me it looks closest to 1MM-003, but it is filled in and if it is even a variety. What do you guys think? Thank you!!!!
This is an example of the broken mint mark punch that was used in 1979. Not an RPM, but I think every variety collector out there has been fooled by that one when they first encountered it. http://www.error-ref.com/broken-punch/
It fooled me a while back. It has a perfect split, but more than not have this broken mm punch. The more you search, the more you'll see.
