I just wanted to see if anyone has been at the Interstate Coin Show in Hagerstown, MD today? I just returned, with some nice higher grade Lincolns.

The show seemed very well attened, as it was difficult at times to get a spot in front of a dealer's table. Everyone seemed to be talking about the fall in silver this week, but I saw a lot of buying during the day. I definitely agree with those who say that there is a two tiered market, as high end items seem somewhat difficult to locate and are bringing very strong money. Low end and problem items are plentiful and being discounted somewhat. There were a few nice early copper pieces, but it seems that nice, original copper cents and half cents are in very short supply.

Aside from a cramped and hot room, the show was enjoyable. I noticed far more children and younger collectors at the show than in the past, which I feel is definitely a good sign for the hobby.

I attended the Hagerstown show on Saturday with my wife and I thought also that they had a very good turnout, you're right, there were alot of younger collectors there and it was difficult to get into the dealers tables due to the amount of people. I noticed alot more buying this time than selling. Its nice that when you purchase a fair amount of coins from one dealer they give you a break in the price. I made out very well there. Its too bad you didnt go on Saturday, I might have ran into you there...literally..lol. Maybe I'll see you at the next one.
