These reverse proofs are quite interesting. I wish I could just buy 5 more of these and skip the rest.
I still don't know what to do with my sets? I can't spend $200 a set on grading but may take my 10 RPs and the 10 Enhanced coins, just not sure the correct way to go with it.
kennedy half dollar silver proof produced since 1992: 1992s 1,317,579 1993s --761,353 1994s --785,329 1995s --679,985 1996s --775,021 1997s --741,678 1998s --878,792 1999s --804,565 2000s --965,421 2001s --889,697 2002s --892,229 2003s 1,125,755 2004s 1,175,934 2005s 1,069,679 2006s 1,054,008 2007s --875,050 2008s --763,887 2009s --697,365 2010s --585,401 2011s --574,175 2012s --440,395 2013s --437,344 2014s --335,976 2014p --125,147 do not under estimate the proof version. cause 2014p kennedy 50th anniversary proof coin is by far the lowest among the proof family.
some of the silve proof kennedy with much higher mintage dated between 1992 to present were worth from $29 to $39 a piece. How much do you price 2014p silve proof with so far 125,000 plus pieces sold should worth?. And what about the other three. reverse proof, enhanced uncirculated and uncirculated should worth?. These set might go up to over $200.00 after the mint announce selling end.

The guy on AAN the other day was predicting that these would be sold out in another week or two. They were also selling Eagles from some "Memphis Hoard" in an IGS slab while putting a piece of paper behind it that featured the NGC logo prominently. Whether it is Chappell or Coin Talk or AAN they are real crooks.
Now that all is said and done I'll give my experience. Bought at 12:11pm on the 28th, buying a box of 5. Recieved the sets Monday the 3rd, picked the best one (glad I bought 5, some weren't up to my liking) then sold the other 4 to a guy on ebay for $460. Shipped his package out today and mine is stored in a good/dark location until I can get home from grad school. Given I missed the 25th ASE and was determined not to miss this, I really enjoyed the experience.
As of 11/9 - 137,802 sold. These may not sell out. Did the mint price them too high in a declining silver market? Is it time for the mint to do away with the 5 set limit? If that doesn't do the trick, maybe reduce the price to $59.95 (where it should be).
A lot of people would be upset if they reduced the price. I doubt the Mint would do that. If anything I think the Mint would sell the coins separately as part of a smaller set
Purchased and received one Kennedy silver box set rather quickly. US Mint getting it together finally? Took forever to get the clad kennedy sets (k14). My opinions pretty much mirror the thread on it. But want to keep mine for awhile as a personal collection.
My next week estimation will be: Kennedy gold - 66,750 Silver four coins set - 141,500 The mint need at least six months or more to sell out the remaining stock for kennedy gold and silver set. Gold total inventory is 75,000 and silver is 180,000 set. It is better to declare sell out.
What to do? Order now or wait? This could make things interesting if the silver set doesn't approach the limit when does the mint pull the plug on it, 2015? If the mintages stay below the 300 K this might make the set interesting to own and many will pass on it thinking the price is too high, but need the coins for the collection later on and by them individually.
In the old years. If they can search a perfect coin out of 200,000,000 pc. That is consider rare. And only very very few came out that condition or done al all. Recent years. Perfect coin and one grade lower can be found at least 99% out of the total production say 200,000 pc. That is presume everybody send them for grading. Why we have to grade it. Even those who return might be grade 69. The mint did not mention that they have to sell us a perfect coin. In fact, those returned coins were accepted by most of the customers. Cause the condition is just well accepted. By using your eyes to see them. It is a perfect coin.
You actually need to list those separately, the 2 coin set uses a different design (the older 1964 - 197x larger bust). The mint set kennedy is the more recent smaller bust.
