How effing dare they! Good crikes they even want you to pay them in Canadian dollars - who the hey do they think they are? Next thing Chrisild is going to expect me to pay him for German commemoratives in Euros!
Just as well the Chinese don't yet want payments only in 人民币 ¥ (RMB Yuan) or we'd ann be up a gumtree.
Back in the days when coins were primarily means of payment, hardly anybody would care about the orientation. Today however, the vast majority (type wise, not quantity wise) of the coins issued are collector pieces. Put and keep them in an album, turn the page ... and US coins are upside down. Christian
Ah, but when a profit can be made, I accept other currencies as well. Well, I do not like such "we do not ship to XYZ" policies either, especially when they are enforced without any further explanation. Then again, why would I want to buy directly from the Canadian Mint? The price of a coin, plus S&H, would probably be prohibitively expensive ... Christian
That's right, the proper side of the road to drive on and effective weights and measures. Seems also that we are able to flog 1/4oz of silver for $38. Wow! That's some mark up for a bit of plastic.
Except there's many countries where people drive on the, errm, other side these days - but very few that make coins with inverted orientation today. Christian
Not entirely true, "British teeth" is a bit of a thing of the past, and the few who don't have a full set are fully employed in bit parts in costume dramas, to add authenticity. You never see an old painting with a smile showing.
I don't know what side of the road you all are talking about but i try to drive on the TOP SIDE..........
