I found this in a roll. It was all green but looked like it had possibilities. I figured it was screwed anyway so I soaked it overnight in mineral oil. the next day I gently rubbed some of the worst off with a toothpick. I dried it about 20 times on a paper towel without rubbing it. Then I took these shiny pics. It looks like good doubling on LIB and TRUST. It's still very corroded and dirty, and it's not listed anywhere I can tell. The R and U in trust have separation lines in the right light.. I put it in xylene this morning. Then I read to switch to lacquer thinner. I'll keep doing it until I can really see it then post more pics.
I'm not sure there's enough left of that coin to distinguish die doubling from machine doubling or die deterioration. If it doesn't match a known variety, I don't think it stands much of a chance.
Yes you are right. I should have known it was Die Deterioration since the doubling is different all over the coin. You gotta admit that U in trust looks good at the right angle... I'll throw it in the coinstar bag.
