Why do you like it ever so much my dear treehugger? That pucks looks quite foul and were I you, I would wait the next price decrease from the Mint.
With the silver price decline, is this a given ? I haven't seen a price decrease yet from the mint except for their limited time offer of free shipping. With the prices I pay to the Mint, I should own stock in their operation :>). Dave
As a Florida native, I can't pass this up, even though the price is totally out of line. Does this affirm that markets are irrational because some of the people making them are?
Treehugger, that is one beautiful design. It compares to the Canadian & Austrailian mints in producing wildlife features. I have orders for P-D & S and it's the first time I have really thought about buying the 5 oz. round.
I should think that while we haven't seen the Mint retreat on silver prices as they have with gold and platinum prices more recently, that if/when silver coin sales are impacted by few sales, then then U.S. MInt will have but no other choice than to reduce silver prices too, until such time as the end of the current year minting of dated coins expires or the price of silver stops falling. Were eager customers to suspend their buying due to noted declines in silver spot prices, they may find better ROI on smaller mintages and a required less initial retail investment to obtain said "P"ucks. Of course, the APs follow the intrinsic metals prices on the market more closely, and bullion versions of these coins more accurately track the market prices plus any over-spot mark up.
I'm waiting for lower prices. Not only is it over priced and the mintage too high, they also blew it on the design. Really, a Florida coin without an alligator?
I had a subscription for these as of the smoky mountain one. I canceled when the discount went away. I will not be buying again until the price drops. BUT that also means this one will probably be the rare one.. perfect storm where it seems like not many people are getting it.
When the Mint issues the series of quarter dollars designs based on suburban sprawl in America as some sort of achievement in modern living across all States in the Union, the alligator species endemic to the southeastern swamps will be featured in the back-yard chlorinated swimming pool engraved on the Florida candidate coin as mandated by a panel of expert CCAC members. It will equal a statement on eco-destruction and encroachment into the habitats of wildlife, and cover all bases for representing their likenesses on commemorating coins so they may be remembered forevermore.
No, I didn't. I meant what I typed, "foul" as in disgusting or poor in design, deliberately typed in italics in my initial post, just SO you would know that I indeed, meant that!
You know dadgum well that if they had put a gator on the coin the FSU nation would have been offended. Ohhh o ohhhh, oh o ohhh...... and after all this is the United States of the Offended.
I had a subscription because of the discount. Without the discount I will wait and double-up on my orders so I don't have to pay shipping multiple times. So yes, I will buy one, but no, it won't be today.
On the recent release of the K13 50th Anniversary Kennedy silver coin set, I ordered some Unc-W ASE in the same order. Fulfillment was under the new company, and sent very fast, however, despite getting a shipping estimate of between 1-2 weeks for the order, it arrived in two days, the two K13 sets in one box and the Unc ASE in a separate box. The merchandise total for all items under one invoice was under $300, which used to be the point when the Mint's complimentary upgrade would kick-in. Even if you wait to double up they may ship things separately. Each parcel came with a packing slip/receipt and I was charged $4.95 per parcel. Be careful of this when you get your future orders that you hope to save on s/h.
Are you sure you were charged twice for shipping, or did they just show the charge on both receipts? I have had a single order ship separately, and was only charged once for shipping.
