question on 1890 silver dollar

    what would an O mean as far as minting? its right above the D & O in dollar on the tail side. thanks!

    That would be New Orleans.

    thanks. was that a common coin? worth anything? i mean, i know i dont have a pic of it, but lets say it was in fait condition

    I'm not familiar with that particular coin's value, but a completed auction search on eBay should give you a good idea.

    There's a lot of ways to get price estimates. Searching on-line auction records' completed listings is a great way. Also, PCGS publishes prices (they're about 20% high)... here ya go ...
