These 2 coins weigh respectively 6 g. and 5.35 g. They look very old, identifiable as I think, and of medium condition. Please help me identify them conveniently. Thanks..
I think the second one is an autonomous issue of Laodikeia ad Mare. Laureate head of Zeus right/Tripod-lebes. I can't make out the legends to be certain. Better pics would make for more convenient identifications, just sayin'.
For the time being, this is what I could do with the legend on the reverse. Hope that would help a little bit. Charles
The first is Seleucid, winged bust of Eros/Headdress of Isis type, maybe Antiochus VII. I'm not an expert on Seleucids. I'm sorry if I've given anyone that impression.
Sorry I volunteered you JA, you are just more familiar with them than anyone else I know on here due to their geographical and historical interaction with Nabateans. Basically you were the only one I knew to suggest, though I know you are not a seleucid collector per se.
Hey no worries. I like researching coins, now that I've got a shelf full of reference volumes plus all that's available online. Every chance to ID a new coin is a learning opportunity. I just don't want anyone thinking my opinion is more authoritative than anyone else's.
