Two weeks ago today in a CWR roll of nickels I found the so far elusive '43-D that finally finally finally completed my album of nickels from circulation or roll search finds:

The '38 and '39 dates and mintmarks I have found multiples of over the past three years. The '50-D was a roll find in a CWR back earlier this year, it is a nice AU. The little stinker '43-D had to elude my clutches until two weeks ago whence I snatched the ornery beast finally from circulation.

edited to add, sorry bad picture.

Congratulations on the 43D. My son and I have found only three of those so far after hundreds of boxes searched.

Congrats! Still waiting on the 39D and 50D. I've stopped searching nickels for awhile since it's just getting frustrating at this point.

I'm going to speculate that the 1944-S was cracked out of a case before it was deposited into the bank...I've found a lot of au nickels but never one that lusterous!

I have found several early dates as early as 1938 that were nice AU's. My earliest BU find is a 1938 Lincoln.
