I came by one, looks AU, though it looks like somebody took a lighter to a small part of it. Anyone know what that could go for? I have many, many other coins that came with this box. edited to comply with forum rules
It's a dollar, if that makes a difference. I didn't mention that. It's a dollar coin, and i also got some Morgan quarters and dimes.
Okay, from 1892 to 1916, the dimes, quarters and half dollars were designed by Charles Barber, not Morgan. There are some valuable dates and mintmarks, but you would have to list them and their grades to get an idea of value.
Lighter Mark? The coin could be worth about $27 if in Nice AU condition. Could the black mark actually be some sort of toning or is it just damaged?
