better light would help. looks like a rim ding and numismatic trauma (post-strike).

the nickel beside the quarter look like it's missing the nickel, lol

 

quarter has been mangled. nickel has environmental damage/corrosion. spend them.

It might be a wrong planchet error and worth a few bucks . But errors aren't my specialty . So wait till someone can tell you with more certainty . It does look promising though .

 

any value to this one and am I even on the right track for collecting coins???
