    both super coins JBG, that alexandrian pius is fantastic ...but the color on that A and A croc is mesmerizing almost.

    As you probably know, these croc things are often found halved. For once the tormentor did his work properly :

    That's very interesting - the die axis of that coin is 9h, which kept the entire croc on the cut. Is this rare on the halved coins? Isn't the axis typically 12h on these issues?

    JA, the examples I've seen really seem to be cut "at random", hence die axis is inconstant
