    $5 BWR pennies - 1944 (x2), 1945, 1956, 2009, 2 Canadians, 127 coppers

I just started roll hunting and the bank that I have gone to, the roll are customer rolls. I feel like I'm not having good luck with them. Where can I find a box of the machine rolled/shotgun rolls? Do I need to try a different bank?

Ask the bank you go to. They may be able to order them for you.

Thanks, have you ever got a box customer rolls before? If you have, do you find that there are not as many keepers compared to the shotgun rolled?

I don't know of any company that boxes customer rolls...I actually have better results with CWR. More due to getting big finds all at once vs a few over time. I find a decent amount of stuff from the BWR. I guess it depends on what you are searching too...

I see 2009-D nickels all the time. I don't like them, but I stick them back for trading fodder.

    $30 CWR Nickels: 39, 40 (x2), 41 (x4), 41-D, 46 (x2), 49, 51, 54-D (x2), 57, 58-D (x3), 59-D

    $25 BWR Cents:
    - Wheats (11): 20-D, 45-D, 46 (x2), 48, 51-D, 54-D, 56 (x2), 56-D, 57-D
    - 59/59-D (6)
    - Canadian (9): 62, 81 (x2), 84, 92, 94, 95, 2000, 2005
    - 600 copper cents

Picked up a new box of cents on my way home yesterday and and will grab some nickels tomorrow "on my rounds." I'd love to find a place to get "legit" CWR halves. Unfortunately all the local banks seem to drop off points for other hunters - at least that's what I'm guessing based on the repacked BWR wrappers and open fed box they pull them from.

Searched thru $460 of halves, come up with zero.

This brings my first search since 2011. Back in 2011, I found at least a few 40%ers and almost as many 90%ers with every buy.

Seems this go around is going to be a tougher go. I'm going to give it a go though.

Picked up a $100 bag of BWR nickels today. So far $26 BWR nickels yielded:

    1940
    1942 (not silver)
    1943 S (silver)
    1948
    1949
    1949D

    I'm happy so far...

  16. After about 50 nickel rolls (guessing), ~3 months, I have completed 1939-2014, circulated, but still fun, but not all mints. Found a nice cud!! Keeper. A couple of 1936 buffalo, thought I had the "tall date" 36 for a while, but guess not. Several war nickels (too ugly for sharing), and this strange 1947, still trying to identify if this is mint issue or PMD, but keeping either way. Now I need to do some returning, but finding I'm a hoarder! Maybe this weekend I'll round all the leftovers (tons). Any suggestions where I can get some good, unsearched, old nickel rolls appreciated (yes, I know ebay, but how do I trust?).

StashTreasure Never pass up silver or gold.

So I just got done re-rolling the culls from this weekends hunt and the totals are:
$26 in nickels netted me 4 pre-60s, 1 buffalo nickel, and a dime.
$25 in pennies netted me 429 coppers, 4 wheaties, 5 canadians, and a 2 euro cent.

I've found 2 rolls at work with a wheat ender. One of these rolls also had a '59-D on the other end

Well, it's been forever since I've gone through any actual rolls, but that's because I've been so freakin busy, I haven't been able to go to the bank. I did, however, get an unclad 1986-D penny, as change from Whole Foods sometime this past month, so while I might not have opened the roll it was found in, the lady at whole foods who gave the coin to me did have to open the roll, I'll post a picture of it later, who knows, I may even post a video on youtube about it.

Are you sure it is one and hasn't just been stripped of its copper cladding?

Went and dumped all of my skunk halves today, and went to a different bank to give dimes a shot, seeing how my previous source of halves have been searched and dumped by someone else.

Any how this is a milestone for me, as I've never once found a silver dime. I picked up one (1) full box @ $250 and then $100. CWR from a separate bank, the box yielded two silver dimes, a 1964, and a 1952, both Roosie.
The $100 was from the same bank as the halves and I'm positive they were searched by the same person. Using a red ink line on the wrapper.

I'm pretty stoked about that. Small find, but it's my first glimpse of the silver since returning.
