What type of proofs are these?

Can anyone tell me what proof types these two SBA dollars are? One on left is very dark goldish tint to the whole coin. Was wondering why these two proofs look different than the mirror like proofs I have owned. Thank you Reverse.jpg Obverse.jpg

It looks like the SBA on the left was treated in a gold wash similar to what was done to the state quarters by the TV hucksters. It is definitely nothing that came from the Mint.

    Couldn't it be heavy toning?

It does not look like a gold wash to me but then again, I am the one asking for help on this. Would a gold wash make Susan, eagle moon & earth keep the "frosted" look on the devices?

I'd phrase your question a bit differently - could a coin maintain its frost after being plated ? Yes.

But the coin in question looks more like a toned coin to me.

Ah good to know. If it was toning, any idea what would cause that kind of toning?

Put one of them in a Dansco album for a while and TADA.. thats how they look. Least the ones I did, years ago look similar.
