What makes you think it’s not real?

It's hard to see the detail of the MM. The position matches a few examples on coinfacts.

With the coin in hand the MM will most likely be clearer. Looks okay to me thanks for the look see. Good luck.

Thank you for all the answers. I have no arguments against the authenticity. I just want to assure my estimate with some further opinions. Furthermore, I will present the coin with my own pictures as soon as I hold it in my hands.

I have several "Top-Tier" TPG certified, and it looks good to me, "nicer" than any I own!

    A valuable find!

Alex, that is not the right shape for the mint mark.

It looks more like the frequently seen counterfeit “snake S” mint mark, but not quite the same.

I suspect this piece was coined at a different mint, and the “S” was chased into its surface, as the shallow recesses around the mint mark imply.

I received the coin and I want to solve it. I think it's a low mint state Denver piece without manipulation :dead:

Almost looks like D over S, but I am not familiar with the type; is that a known variant?

If someone were going to doctor it you'd expect an "O" more likely, right?

Nice coin & looks legit to me.

Is that "Chief Two Face" on the obverse?

I think that Tough coins is right on this one.
That MM doesn't follow the design of the D or S. Could be damage but something looks off.
