Ike dollar won't go into folder

Actually, the real mintage approximately 2 million coins but only 1.765 million sets were sold. The balance were melted according to a letter dated 12/19/1974 from the US Mint to Herb Hicks (proofartoncircs).

As for the OP's original question? Yes, I've had difficulty with ALL different coins types in putting them into Dansco type albums. Occasionally, the holes are either too perfect or too small. Sanding the hole helps.

Did you compare it with perhaps another IKE Dollar too verify that it was "the coin" that was way too big?
