I know quaters before 1964 are silver and worth something but what about other dates in the 60s and so on. What are quater dates to keep/look for?
Opinion I think you should look for the latest quarters, but if not, then non-silver quarters are just 25 cents.
Unless, of course, you can find a Minnesota or Wisconsin error coin: http://coins.about.com/od/uscoins/a/extra_tree_quar.htm http://www.usatoday.com/money/2005-02-08-flawed-quarter-usat_x.htm You could acquire these by buying rolls of quarters, checking them for the error, and then returning them to the bank for more rolls.
Look for any of the early clads in high grades and with a nice strong strike. Many of these are getting about impossible over Fine condition so keep all the nice ones until you figure which are tough like the '68-D, '69, '71, and '73-D. The best bet is to buy a $2 folder and start a set of the nicest ones you can find.
