image.jpg So a few years ago I tried putting this in an album. Yeah it was wayyyyy to big. Add extra 1/3 cm then it'd fit. Any ideas why?

I have no idea if it is a key date or not.

    Sigh......

No, it's not a "key date".

With a mintage of under two million, the 1973 and 1973-D would be considered the key dates if there is such a thing as an Ike key date. The 1974-D had a mintage over 45 million.

As Kirk said, if any could be considered such, the two 1973s, which have identical mintages (as they were only released as part of the set) would likely be it.

The coin is the right size according to the 2x2.

The Lincoln cent for size comparison is useless. Calipers would be more accurate.

It's my guess that the album is the culprit.

Agreed, if it was 1/3 cm too large it wouldn't fit in the 2X2.
