An oldie but a goodie! This was THE coin that started my addiction to toners. Who'd have thought that $3.00 spent around 4 years ago would change my life.
I don't know much about them. Are they very collectible? I need to find where I set it to the side now and put it in a protector.
I think you should collect what you like! Some people collect ultra-rare coins, some people collect ancients, some people collect blast-white coins, and some like me collect toners. I just love the uniqueness of each piece. If you like woodies, as many people do, then by all means collect them!
I had seen the thread "Got Wood" and I loved them. I was hoping to find one, didn't take long, just one day. Here's the reverse also.
If you couldn't tell with all my post right now, I'm CRH. I'm like butter, I'm on a roll. Here's a 1978 Woody. The back seems plain.
This 1968 has a very dark brown coloring. I haven't seen one like this before. Looks like a chocolate candy cent.
Found this dime in one of my boxes yesterday. Sorry for my amateurish pictures. I wasn't able to get all the hues that are showing IRL. There are a lot of green tones on the top of the the obverse, Liberty is blueish, and his hair is golden. Also, on the reverse where it looks black it is actually blue/purple.
